Following the extraordinary academic response and high metrics received from our international research network regarding recent polar publication, this page offers a centralized reference framework for our English-speaking and international colleagues. Below are three major volumes from the author's fieldwork catalog, focusing on northern maritime isolation and Mediterranean archaeology, fully available in English or bilingual editions.
I. Two Archipelagos and Two Islands at the Mirror: Sea-ones (Faroe and
Mykines), Land-ones (Carnia and Sauris)
- Language: English
- Scope: Comparative
Ethno-Anthropology & Human Geography
This
international research volume—originally suggested by the Danish Academy in
Rome (Det Danske Institut for Videnskab Og Kunst I Rom)—places the
North Atlantic maritime setting of the Faroe Islands face-to-face with the
alpine mountain valleys of Carnia (Northeastern Italy). Mirroring an identical
surface area and a shared historical margin of socio-cultural isolation, the
book evaluates core cultural indicators: bilingualism, structural demographic
crises, the survival of oral folklore (trølls vs. sbilfs), and
the preservation of spontaneous vernacular architecture. It includes two
specialized micro-enclave studies focusing on the islands of Mykines and the
German-speaking Bavarian enclave of Sauris.
